On January 12, 2022, in fact, an important meeting took place in San Marino. Dr. Roberto Pinotti and Dr. Augusto Casali were received by the Most Excellent Captains Regent [Capitani Reggenti], the Heads of State of the Republic of San Marino. The object of the cordial meeting, which lasted over an hour, was the presentation of the Titano Project to the highest authorities of the Republic.

Dr. Agusto Casali, a long-time San Marino politician, is the person who is credited with having had over thirty years ago, when he was Minister of Tourism, the foresight that allowed the start of the successful series of International Symposia on Unidentified Flying Objects organized by the Centro Ufologico Nazionale under the auspices of the San Marino government.

He then proceeded to illustrate in detail the Project and the benefits that the Republic could draw from it in terms of spreading knowledge of San Marino in the world, of international prestige for the Republic, of increasing and diversifying tourist flows and of the possibility of creating a specific induced activity.
The attention of the Heads of State was also drawn to the fact that San Marino's centuries-old neutrality is a valuable asset that would allow an international forum such as the one envisaged by the Project to be connoted and enhanced.
At the end of the meeting the Captains Regent assured that they will report to the Government on this meeting, expressing a favorable opinion on ProjectTitan. In fact, the San Marino Constitution excludes that the Heads of State have the possibility of making political decisions, a function that is reserved for the Government.
Comment
Of course, the final decision on San Marino's adhesion to Project Titan is up to its executive, but after this morning's meeting, reasonable optimism is warranted.
